OUR SESSIONS

The Kindergarten operates as an All Day centre for 5 days per week (Monday - Friday).  Two of those days (Tuesdays and Thursdays) are split into 2 individual sessions.  On these days we provide sessions for young children (0-3 years) and their parents/caregivers/grandparents, followed by a session for the older children (3-6 years).

       Younger Sessions (0-3 years)

       Tuesday & Thursday 8:45am - 11:15am

We cater for very young children.  We offer shorter                        sessions for children aged between 0-3 years twice a                 week which allows parents/caregivers/grandparents                to attend with babies and toddlers.

These sessions offer great support, encouragement                 and opportunity for parents to share parenting skills                and make lasting friendships all while their children play and learn in a safe and stimulating environment.  We believe these special times for younger children and their families/whanau are unique to our kindergarten and are valued by the community.

Older Sessions (3-6 years)

Monday, Wednesday & Friday 8:45am - 1:30pm

Tuesday & Thursday 11:15am - 3:15pm

For older children the sessions provide a calm happy atmosphere where they are free to develop and

practice their independence, co-operation,

confidence, creativity and social skills.

We have a large natural environment which provides challenges and encourages exploration.

The teachers and kindergarten community have made a deliberate decision to not have iPads or tablets available for children to use.

We think that our children are best served in their pre-school years by exploring the real world of their environment, learning how to build good relationships and learning through play - all major focuses of our Kindergartens philosophy.

We provide balanced sessions.  There is a mix of free play and structured time (mat time and eating together) to give children a sense of routine and certainty.

Scrapbooks

Scrapbooks are a record of your child's journey at our Kindergarten. When children leave the kindergarten they are presented with their scrapbook/s that celebrate their milestones and progress over their time at kindergarten.  In these books you will find your child's learning stories which are linked to our curriculum (Te Whaariki) and the teachers planning for the group and individuals.  Also in these books you will find photos of those special learning moments as well as art work.
